Open Hardware Monitor is an old-school-looking software but it is as reliable as modern-looking software. Inside it there are like "segments" of the same color that stacks on top of each other creating a column so i imagined the fan speeds could be represented with a vrtical bar (to use less space), like in "graphic equalizer" of the audio equipments i think it doesnt needs a gauge, also having 3 gauges could look a bit weird/confusing for someone, is more intuitive to have only 2 gauges, and the fan using something different. is just i think that color needs to have a huge brigthnessĪnd for the fan speeds. but yellow or the orange one you was using is not so bad. to achieve a bigger contrast wth the colors of the gauge. I changed the color of the needle to white. this results in a couple of interesting areas in between 60-80 (that should be around the normal range ingame), and 80-100 for the def-con modes, lol If you prefer to use others i will agree with it, this ones are just what i got in the first tests with themĪlso, i divided in symmetrical sections of 20 each. and that resulted in a intermediate pink, etc. i tryed to use a color scale from light blue (representing cold) to red (hot). HWMonitor is a program that reads PC systems sensors like temperature, fan speed, voltages, etc. i avoided using yellow and green tones because couold result in a low contrast with the color of the needle. In that squared area i used that "frame" in metal colors you made that looks like an LCD display, it was looking good, that space also allows to display the digits like in a "7-segments display" btw (incase you are creative and want to try other style for it)įor the digits inside it, i reduced it to only 1 decimal, i think is enought with 1 I removed also the low values of the gauge (from 0 to 10) to make room in that square at the corner again to make it more visible from the distance Instead of it, i added a thin line all around onf 1 pixel (the same you was doing in the gauges for CELL/RSX) but i continued with an square at bottom-left to make room to display the value with a bigger font. HWinfo and HWmonitor are also popular due to the amount of info they provide. Id assume Afterburner is most popular for the overlay, the graphs are also useful. HWinfo, HWmonitor, Aida64, Afterburner/RTSS, CAM, etc. I removed a circle (or around 2 pixels width) all around because this allows me to maximize the diamter and made a better usage of the area available, the goal of making the gauges bigger is to allow to see them from far away They just read existing sensors, 'best' is subjective. The rule is easy to remember, the value at the center of the gauge (when needle is vertical) is always 50 The first decission i took was to use the scale you made in the fan gauge, because it have the value 50 perfectly aligned with the vertical, thats a nice reference I made a sketchup with some ideas, and im going to try to explain the arguments why i made every change
